Gothic 1 Remake Quests: Main Story & Side Quest Guides

Fact-checked: July 2026

Use this hub to follow verified remake quest routes without relying on invented reward tables or original-game steps that no longer match. Start with the broad walkthrough, then open the chapter-specific guide you need.

Start with the spoiler-light route

The main walkthrough organizes preparation, faction choice, chapter transitions, and late-game readiness. It is the safest starting point when you want direction without a full story transcript.

Save before major faction commitments and chapter transitions. Some NPC positions, available trainers, and quest outcomes change as the story advances.

Chapter 2: Orc Cemetery

Cor Angar's Orc Cemetery route uses a target-based entrance, two key halves, an Orc Lever, and Baal Lukor. The remake substantially changes this dungeon from Gothic (2001), including its chapter placement and puzzle flow.

Follow the remake-specific walkthrough rather than an original guide that tells you to use a winch or an Orcish Teleport scroll.

Chapter 3: Saturas and the Focus Stones

After the Ocean Cliff Focus is recovered, Saturas sends the hero after four remaining stones. Lester, Gorn, Milten, and Diego accompany the Mountain Fortress, Monastery Ruins, Troll Canyon, and Stone Circle routes.

The remake swaps the Diego and Milten assignments compared with the original, which is a common source of search confusion.

How this quest hub is maintained

We do not label this a complete database or publish exact XP and item rewards unless they can be checked against a remake-specific source. Patch-sensitive details are dated and separated from legacy Gothic knowledge.

For a quest that is not yet covered, use the walkthrough and map hubs rather than an unverified placeholder entry.

Frequently asked questions

Does Gothic 1 Remake have new quests?

Yes. The remake rebuilds the original game and expands its world, dialogue, and quest content. It also changes several familiar routes, so original-game walkthroughs may give the wrong chapter, companion, entrance, or puzzle steps.

Where should I start if I want minimal spoilers?

Use the spoiler-light walkthrough hub. It explains chapter preparation, faction choice, and points of no return without reproducing every dialogue or outcome.

Why does an old Gothic guide not match the remake?

Major examples include the Orc Cemetery entrance and chapter placement, plus the companion assignments for two Focus Stone routes. Use remake-specific pages when steps conflict.
