Gothic 1 Remake Mountain Fortress Chest Key & Armor

Several chests cause this search query. The important Master Bedroom chest holds Royal Guard Armor and cannot be picked; its key is in another chest at the top of the tower. Two hidden-laboratory chests are separate lockpick puzzles.
Royal Guard Armor chest route
- Learn Climbing from Theron before attempting the tower route.
- Enter the Mountain Fortress and solve the library bookshelf sequence.
- Use the order: Swampshark or large snake creature, Wolf, then Molerat.
- Follow the hidden passage and climb toward the top of the fortress tower.
- Open the tower-top chest, take the key, and return to the Master Bedroom chest.
Why lockpicking does not work
The Master Bedroom chest is key-gated. A high lockpicking skill or solver sequence will not replace the tower key.
If you are looking at a chest that accepts lock inputs, you have found a different Mountain Fortress container—most likely one of the hidden laboratory chests.
Royal Guard Armor stats
- 48 Edge resistance.

Separate hidden laboratory chests
The hidden laboratory contains two different lockpick chests with potion loot and distinct combinations. Treat those as a separate intent from the Royal Guard Armor key route.
