1. Stabilize the opening hours

2. Visit the three faction routes

The official game structure centers on three factions. Explore their entry quests and trainer access before committing, because faction choice affects abilities, playstyle, armor progression, and parts of the adventure.

Use the Camp Advisor to compare Old Camp, New Camp, and Swamp Camp goals. Do not judge only by the first reward: two-handed training, advanced magic, armor, and other lessons can be membership-gated.

3. Build before major expeditions

• ◆Confirm that your current weapon uses the attribute you are training.
• ◆Buy the next weapon rank before spreading points across several utility skills.
• ◆Carry healing, ranged options, lockpicks, and a light source before entering a long dungeon route.
• ◆Save in a new slot before a faction decision, named quest hand-in, or hostile area.
• ◆Check armor resistances against the damage type expected in the next region.

4. Use the journal as the main-quest authority

Patch updates can change triggers and dialogue. Follow the current in-game journal for active objectives, then use the quest database to identify the NPC, camp, or region involved. Avoid forcing an older 2001 solution when the remake presents a different interaction.

When progress stops, review unfinished prerequisite quests, return to the quest giver during their normal schedule, and check whether the objective requires a specific faction, item, time, or dialogue sequence.

5. Prepare for story-location difficulty spikes

Named ruins, mines, fortresses, and the Orc Cemetery are not just map markers; they are progression checks. Repair weak points before entering: damage output, healing supply, ranged pressure, armor resistance, and a safe return route.

Clear inventory space and create a manual save outside the area. If an encounter feels impossible, leave and complete camp quests rather than burning every consumable against a gate your build is not ready to cross.

6. Late-game cleanup

• ◆Resolve side quests that may close after major story transitions.
• ◆Visit trainers before consuming permanent stat boosts if you are min-maxing attribute caps.
• ◆Recheck vendors and crafting resources after chapter or faction progression.
• ◆Keep a pre-commit save before the final sequence of major objectives.
