Gothic 1 Remake Santino: Special Pieces & Title Deed
Fact-checked: July 2026
Santino starts Special Pieces early, but the answer is intentionally delayed: the item he wants is the Title Deed from the later Mountain Fortress route. You are not expected to finish the quest during the first Old Mine visit.
Santino location
Find Santino on the uppermost level of the Old Mine. He functions as a merchant and gives Special Pieces during Chapter 1.
Explore upward through the mine rather than searching the lowest extraction floors. Speak to him before leaving so the delayed objective is recorded in the journal.
The item for Special Pieces
The correct item is the Title Deed. It becomes available through the later Mountain Fortress and Lester storyline, so the quest cannot be completed when Santino first gives it.
Do not sell or discard the Title Deed when you eventually obtain it. Return to Santino after the related route and check the journal for the updated turn-in state.
Why online answers conflict
Santino existed as an Old Mine trader in the original Gothic, but Special Pieces and the Title Deed objective are remake-specific. Original NPC pages therefore do not answer the remake quest.
Secondary guides differ on Santino's later location and exact item or ore rewards. This guide keeps those details qualified until independently verified in-game.
Before returning
- Complete the Mountain Fortress/Lester route far enough to obtain the Title Deed.
- Keep the deed in inventory.
- Check the Old Mine and quest journal for any story-state changes.
- Use a manual save before a delayed turn-in if you are testing alternate outcomes.
