Gothic 1 Remake Bullit: Location & Bully for Bullit
Fact-checked: July 2026
Bullit is the Old Camp guard from the opening 'baptism.' In the remake-expanded Bully for Bullit quest, Syra asks you to defeat him. The safest fight location is disputed, so isolate him and protect your save rather than relying on one universal routine.
Start Bully for Bullit
Reach Syra inside the Old Camp castle and accept the objective connected to Bullit. Castle access and the correct quest state are required before simply fighting him will count as the intended progression.
The objective is to defeat Bullit, not necessarily kill him. Avoid unnecessary lethal follow-up attacks after he goes down.
Find Bullit
Bullit moves through the Old Camp around the tavern and river area. Search at different times if he is absent from the first location.
Two post-release sources disagree about guard behavior: one recommends isolating him by the river around midnight, while another describes the tavern fight as a watched duel and warns about nighttime guards.
Safer fight procedure
- Make a manual save before initiating combat.
- Move Bullit away from crowded NPCs when possible.
- Lock onto Bullit and avoid wide attacks that can hit guards.
- Stop attacking when he is defeated.
- If the camp becomes hostile or the journal fails to update, reload and test the alternate time or location.
Remake versus original
Original Bullit also attacks the hero at the exchange point and can later be confronted. The structured Syra objective, Bully for Bullit, is a remake expansion.
Use remake-specific quest states and rewards rather than assuming the original confrontation resolves this version.

How do I avoid angering the guards?
Save first, isolate Bullit from bystanders, avoid hitting guards, and be prepared to reload. Current guides conflict on whether the tavern or nighttime river route is consistently safer.
